Catalina
Co-Owner
Catalina spent over 11 years working with Dog Duty as a trusted contractor while also running her own Building Design company. Her work allowed her to spend meaningful time in clients’ homes, delivering the attentive, high-quality care their pets deserve.
She is honored to carry forward the legacy of warm, personalized service established by Scott and Gini, the founders of Dog Duty. Alongside her husband, Shane, she is committed to continuing that tradition—providing compassionate, reliable care for every pet and family they serve.
Shane is a lifelong animal lover and the driving force behind Dog Duty’s day-to-day care, serving as our primary dog walker. With a background in the service industry, he brings a strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail to every visit. He also has a deep interest in mycology and plant identification, allowing him to recognize potentially poisonous species and help keep pets safe during their time outdoors. Shane takes pride in building genuine connections with each pet and making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for.

2013 A Key Addition
Gini welcomed Catalina to the team in 2013, bringing on a fellow animal lover who would go on to provide over a decade of dedicated, in-home care for families across the South Bay.

Led by Catalina and Shane, Dog Duty is supported by a small team of trusted contractors who share the same commitment to quality, compassionate pet care.
Our Legacy
Dog Duty was founded by Gini Wallace, who left her corporate career to follow her heart. For twenty years, she and her husband Scott dedicated themselves to the pets of South Bay, building a foundation of trust and meticulous care that continues to thrive today.
The Beginning
Gini Wallace leaves her corporate life to help local pet owners and volunteer with animals, launching Dog Duty as a mission-driven small business.
Alongside her husband Scott, Gini grew Dog Duty into a trusted pet care service, supporting families across the South Bay for over 20 years.
2024 Passing the Leash
After decades of dedication, Gini and Scott retired and passed Dog Duty on to Catalina and her husband Shane to continue the legacy
